A pump in which a small jet of steam, air, water, or other fluid in rapid motion lifts or otherwise moves by its impulse a large quantity of the fluid with which it mingles. A jet pump in india is an excellent choice for this application because it is highly tolerant to sand and other particles and can typically be used in applications where the GLR through the pump is less than 1000. Hence, they have been operated at GLRs as high as 6000, but as much free gas as possible should be sent around the jet pump and not through it.

This is accomplished by using a parallel tubing or concentric tubing installation, setting the intake of the pump below the perforations (if possible) and using a gas anchor attached to the bottom of the jet pump. It will also permit the tubing–casing annulus to function as an additional gas separator thereby allowing the gas to flow uninhibited to the surface. This will also reduce the energy needed to operate the jet as it would not be “producing” the gas along with the liquid. A new style of jet pump is being developed that will not suffer either power fluid cavitation (not enough inflow) or production cavitation (too much inflow for the installed nozzle/throat combination). It is a radically new concept and will take quite some time to develop into a commercial product. While it has already been claimed that a noncavitating pump has been developed, it cannot be scientifically verified in a test lab setting, whereas the performance of the above pump has been verified.

Another, and even more significant development, was establishing the methodology for sizing the nozzle and throat areas when very small sizes are involved. It is based solely on the difference of the two areas whereas the standard method uses just the ratio of the two areas. Using only the standard methodology resulted in continually having power fluid cavitation problems.

By including all of the above, power fluid cavitation issues were completely resolved.
